Stockwell promises a bible in every pot...

If you haven't seen the new onslaught of commercials, you're either
a Canadian without a t.v. or you're from some god-forsaken country
we don't care about. Stockwell Day wants your vote: but does
this country (where more than 80 percent are pro-choice and the
majority support gay rights) want him? We hope not.

In his latest ad, Day says under the Alliance party a single-income
family of four making $60,000 will not have to pay taxes. This guy
claims to be grass-roots? Basically, he wants moms of wealthy families
to stay home with the kids (which I'm all for, for all families)
and I'm sure he wouldn't mind if they decide to homeschool
(all the wealthy Christians are doing it these days, don't you know?)
Gotta keep the kids away from all the heathen bastards in
public schools these days.
Day's record shows he's a right-wing bible-thumper with his
finger on the pulse of the rich, moral majority.

In '88, Day said granting greater access to abortion would cause an
increase in child abuse:

"The thinking is," he said, "if you can cut a child to pieces or burn
them alive with salt solution while they're still in the womb,
what's wrong with knocking them around a little when they're
outside the womb."
Great thinking, Stockwell. Hmmm, I'm
pro-choice and anti-spanking. What are your views on spanking, Oh
Great Protector of Children? Against that too?

Day is against gay rights:
He tried to get his government to invoke the notwithstanding clause
to overturn the Supreme Court decision writing protection of gays
in the human rights code.
Does this kind of backward thinking
even require a comment?

How many television commercials is this guy running these days,
anyway? We see this blandly handsome older man jogging, chopping
wood and holding his beautiful granddaughter (while he cries about
the national debt.)

Where are the scenes of Day goosestepping? Now that's what I'd
like to see. Why hide what you are, Stockwell? Do you think the
Canadian people are too stupid to see past your false exterior?
Maybe.
